"CROCODILE" DUNDEE AT LECTURESHIP 2000?

"Crocodile Dundee will not be speaking at the SABC Lectureship this year (September 24-27), but another figure's Australian accent will make its way from the pulpit to the pew."

Ian Coker, Minister of the Toowoomba Church of Christ in Queensland, Australia, will deliver keynote lessons Cheap Grace; The Grace of God in Hearing, Believing, Repenting, Baptism; Nature of Grace; Perils of Grace.

Coker was resource speaker at Kerrville, Texas, last year. The Kerrville City Times reported:

"Coker has preached for the Toowoomba Church 27 years. He took to the pulpit after American missionaries decided the church there would be better off run by Australians. The Toowoomba congregation has grown to 100 and attendance is at 95 per cent. This is remarkable in a country where church attendance is not a priority."

Coker is a native Australian. He attended the Macquarie School of Preaching in Sydney. During his ministerial career, Coker has done missionary work in India. His wife, Diane, is a wonderful helper for him, but unfortunately commitments to their children (they are expecting their first grandchild during SABC' Lectureship time) render her unable to accompany Ian at this time.

The Hornes met Ian Coker in 1999 when the latter was a featured speaker at Donna's hometown of Kerrville, TX. Coker proved to be a very popular speaker for the Lord.

Australia is not just superb at Rugby, Cricket and a favourite place for South African immigrants .... it also produced a world class beater .... but for the Lord this time. This is one speaker you don't want to miss!
