SABC gives students an opportunity for practical experience.
During the year, students are encouraged to serve with congregations in
practical capacities: youth camps, evangelistic outreaches, vacation bible
schools and youth ministries. As funds permit, campaigns have been undertaken
into neighboring African countries such as Botswana, Swaziland, etc.
CAMPAIGNS
Because campaigns are a practical activity based upon invitations from
congregations, the number of campaigns held per year relates directly to that -
The number of invitations the college receives. School vacation time is set for
the last Saturday in November to Mid-January when a new school year begins.
Campaigns are determined by the need of the particular place. Sometimes
campaigns are evangelistic in nature, sometimes benevolent. Most campaigns
include activities such as door-knocking, setting up and teaching bible classes
and campfire devotionals in the evenings.
Campaigns are held in various South African cities where invitations are
extended by the local congregations. In past years, an annual foreign campaign
was conducted in neighboring countries such as Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho and
Zimbabwe. In recent years, rising costs and lack of funding have ruled out these
foreign campaigns, but we hope to reinstate them sometime in the future.
