theri home countries outside of Africa -Ireland, England, New Zealand, America,
Portugal, etc. Still others return to teh cities and villages in South Africa
from which they came -Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London, Durban, Empangeni,
Richard's Bay, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Welkom, etc. as well as
African Areas such as Venda, Kwazulu-Natal etc.
Many of the SABC graduates have become pulpit ministers, youth ministers,
deacons and elders in the Lord's Church, both nationally and internationally.
Graduates have also become involved in World
Bible School work and Prison Ministry.
SABC began mostly as a preacher training school, but its goal has always been to
train young men and women in the service of the Lord's Church. The college
teaches only bible and bible-related subjects to prepare the students for this.
They are given both classroom and practical experience.
SABC's IMPACT IN SOUTHERN AFRICA
There were very few congregations in Southern Africa when SABC first opened
its doors in 1965. For several years after that, American missionaries featured
in South Africa. One by one, American missionary families returned home, leaving
pulpits which SABC graduates began to fill. Today there are few, perhaps 4-5
American families doing missionary work in South Africa. Also today, established
congregations meet in most of the larger cities around the country.
Most of the World Bible School
follow-up work in this country is done by SABC graduates.
